My hands have been so dry with the cold Wisconsin weather (and wind) that I’m pulling out some trusted favorites to keep them in good shape. I should mention, I’m REALLY LAZY so if I bother to take the time to apply a lotion on my chapped skin aside from just before bedtime, take note.
I discovered Kiehl’s Hand Cream in Coriander when I was at the airport on my way to a vacation in Sedona a few years ago. Between flights I noticed that my knuckles were cracking and close to bleeding from being so dry. I stopped a nearby shop and grabbed a random hand cream that was travel sized and was on my way. It didn’t occur to me until later how badass this stuff is. The scent is herbal but light, and the texture is totally non-greasy. You could totally open a jar after putting it on. But somehow, once it is applied it sinks in and immediately starts healing up my dry patches.
I’ve had a difficult time finding this hand cream in the exact scent of Coriander in the past few years. It comes in Lavender and Grapefruit as well, but there’s just something special about the herbal scent that keeps me wanting more. I finally tracked it down at Mayfair Mall several months ago, and bought every tube they had! And now I see it in stock on Kiehl’s website. Go figure. I hope it’s here to stay and easy to find for a long time.
Again, please take note at how lazy I am and how little attention I give to my hands. I never used to do manis before discovering Olive & June, but since covid hit, I’ve become obsessed with painting my nails as as hobby! One thing I discovered when I bought their system is the Olive & June Cuticle Serum. This is not normally something I would use, but something about it has me hooked whether I am wearing nail polish or not. On top of being hydrating to cuticles, it literally works INSTANTLY. Like…how. I can’t figure out the sorcery but I don’t question it. There is a foam tip with a click up application. It’s quickly absorbing and non-greasy and I learned in one of their tutorials that it’s made with cactus flower, which has a watery feel instead of oily. So if you want, you can go right onto painting your nails without an oily oil making your nail beds funky and ruining the application. Cool!!
Honestly, I wasn’t applying it for a bit because I misplaced it, and I noticed a difference within a week. I have a hangnail right now and after using the cuticle serum a few times it’s already healing up and the pain is diminishing. I went to put another cuticle oil in my cart and between my membership (yes…I bought a membership LOL who am I?!) and the honey app coupon I found I got so much money off I ended up just buying another system. I needed a new nail polish remover and wanted a few new shades so it made sense to splurge a little especially since all the discounts made it so cheap!
What do you use on your dry hands? I’d love to hear other suggestions even though I’m pretty married to mine!
