I’ve been really antsy at home lately and since the internet is my only portal to the outside world right now, I’ve been spending a lot of time there. I’m peeking at summer clothes, subscribing to food boxes, and getting myself in trouble on the Sephora website. It’s the VIB sale right now and though I don’t really NEED anything, I had my eye on a few things and decided to pick them up. I’ll share below what made my list!
Full disclosure, I bought these all with my own money. I also want to share that I realize this is a tough time financially for many people, so I’m not trying to encourage you to spend money you don’t have. We are very blessed that with layoffs all around us, my husband has kept his job. I’ve reached a lot of personal goals recently: I was able to pay off a good amount of debt between our tax return and stimulus check, graduated from an intense counseling program, and started homeschooling recently due to the pandemic. I really felt like I deserved to splurge a little bit more than usual on myself this year for these reasons. I typically allow myself $100-200 to spend on the sale every year, but for the last several months I’ve been using things up without replacing them. Between treating myself a little extra and replenishing those things, it all added up in a huge hurry.
If you are spending money on the sale, tell me what you’re getting! I’m already filling my shopping cart up again for round two! 😂
What I bought
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer
When Cover FX Gripping Primer came out a few years ago and I couldn’t find it anywhere in stores, everyone recommended the Milk Hydro Grip Primer, and said they liked it more. I’ve been wanting to own this primer forever and I’ve tried it many times in store. It’s hydrating and has great hold. I’m excited to use it!

Supergoop Glowscreen Sunscreen
I barely count this as a beauty purchase, because it’s SPF and I need sunscreen! Glowscreen is a lightly tinted SPF 40 with a pearlescent finish. I’ve heard great reviews on this, plus I love the brand. I plan to wear this by itself when I am going to the beach (ahem, IF I get to go to the beach this summer…#pandemiclife) but it can be used as a makeup primer too.

Becca Ignite Liquified Highlighter
Becca was one of my favorite brands before I started using a lot more clean beauty products. Then the brand kind of fell off of my radar. I am a lot less choosy about how clean a brand is these days as long as it works super well. I had my eye on a new highlighter and since Becca’s are so great I thought I would try out the Ignite Liquified Highlighter. It can be used on face and body. I’m excited to give this a try!

Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation in 03
Tinted Face Oil is one of my all time favorite foundations and it’s amazing for summer. It hydrates and has an amazing glassy finish that makes my skin look flawless but natural all at the same time. I’m running low on this so decided to replace it. They’ve expanded their shade range since I bought this last. I originally took shade 03 but now that I ordered it I wonder if that’s still the right shade selection. I’ll find out soon!

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
I’ve been really lazy with skincare lately, and someone recently reminded me of how much Vitamin C helps skin look brighter and healthier. So, I decided to put this in my cart. I love Biossance as a brand so I’m excited to try their Squalane + Vitamin C. If I keep up with Vitamin C in my skincare routine, I should probably find a cheaper version, but I felt like treating myself this time around!

Josie Maran Skin Dope Argan Oil
I was using First Aid Beauty’s Oat & Hemp Seed oil and was telling myself in my head that it was CBD oil for some reason. Well, it’s made from cannabis sativa oil and colloidal oatmeal, and I do LOVE it, but it ran out. I told myself this time around I’d try an actual full-spectrum CBD oil so wanted to try Skin Dope. I absolutely love what cannabis oil does for my skin. It takes the redness down and soothes irritation right away. I’m excited to try this because I love everything I’ve ever used from Josie Maran’s brand.

Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops in Medium
I love using gradual tanning drops on my face. I haven’t done this for a while but I love that you can mix them with your moisturizer and wake up with a bit of a tan. Self tanner is a pain in the @$$ in my opinion because it can be finnicky to use so I love using a gradual formula. I have heard great things about the Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops so decided I would give them a shot.

Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in No. 6 Deep Mauve Nude
This winter I was in the mood to buy a bright pink lipstick and fell in love with the Lip Stylo formula. I really wanted to grab another one of these so decided to go for a nude one that I would wear a bunch. I’m excited to get this. I know the color will be great since mauve nude is my favorite shade to wear.

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops
I had a sample of this a long time ago and loved this so decided I wanted to own the full size. You can mix these Sunshine Drops with your foundation to make it a little darker to match your tan. It would be great for wearing on its own too on no makeup days. I’ll probably mix it with the Glowscreen I bought!
