Lucky Chick Creamy Matte Lipstick

I love lipstick and I love coffee, so imagine when I learned I could have the two at once! I was sold. I recently learned that coffee oil is a bit of a little known beauty secret in the world of essential oils. It’s made from extracting residual oil from coffee beans, and can prevent dehydration, soften and smooth skin. Lucky Chick Cosmetics makes a matte lipstick that I’ve grown to love that uses coffee oil as a secret ingredient. I tried four shades, and they were all very pretty. I had a little too much fun swapping them out so I could take pictures. Surprise! I loved them all.

It takes a lot to impress me with a new beauty product, but I was intrigued from the get go with these lipsticks after hearing about the story behind the brand. The founder, Stephanie, has an art degree and Lucky Chick is her nickname, since she lives in an NYC apartment in Lobby C (LC. Lucky Chick. Get it?) She decided to create a persona around her new name inspired by life’s indulgences. Each color from this cosmetics brand is precisely picked from the painting of the Poppy flower created by the founder’s mother. Given a project to create a painting every day as a meditation while she was going through breast cancer treatment, Stephanie’s mom turned it into a collection of inspiring creations. I love the different shades of deep reds, oranges, pinks, and nudes found within the shade range of these gorgeous lipsticks.

Paradise and Desire were my favorite of the two shades. Paradise is a gorgeous rosy nude lipstick, and is exactly the type of shade I always tend to gravitate towards when looking for a new lippie. Desire is a bright red with blue undertones. I really prefer a blue undertone when it comes to a bright lip shade because it brings out the whites in my teeth and is more flattering on my cool toned skin. The packaging of these is sturdy, and reminds me of Kosas. The shades themselves are beautiful, opaque in one quick swipe, and last for hours without budging. The red makes me nervous to wear unless I use a lip liner, but that’s all bright lipstick for me.

Other things to admire about this brand include that Lucky Chick’s products are vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, peg free, D-5 free, gluten-free and made in the USA.

I’ve been enjoying the imagery that every time I have been wearing these I’m wearing something that was part of a beautiful painting. I’m intrigued by their Lip Lacquer and Liquid Eye Jewel too. All such pretty colors! This will definitely be a brand to watch.

If you pick something up and love it let me know in the comments!
