Beauty Essentials. London Edition.

Your inner and outer guide to london

Hello beauty lovers ! Today my special guest is London. Having just returned from this beautiful city I have a few beauty gems from across the pond that I’d like to bring to your attention. My philosophy is beauty from the inside out so I’m going to start by introducing you to Neal’s Yard Remedies. Our skin, which is our largest organ, is simply a reflection of what’s going on inside. So let’s start on the inside shall we…

From the inside out…a vegan state of mind.

Neal’s Yard Remedies is a UK staple. Owned by the Kindersley family who are proud to be a small, completely independent, family-owned British company, staying true to their vision of a healthy, ethical and sustainable lifestyle for everyone. They even grow some of their ingredients on their farm, Sheepdrove Organic Farm, high on the Lambourn Downs in Berkshire. As I have said before organic truly makes a difference, not only in our food but in our skincare as what we put on our skin goes into our body.

I love their Covent Garden shop, as soon as you step inside your senses are greeted by the smell of pure essential oils that sooth the soul. I wanted to buy everything!  I prioritized by purchasing the ‘Beauty Sleep Supplement’ now I sometimes take melatonin, however its illegal in the UK (why I don’t know as its a potent antioxidant that is made by the pineal gland in the brain and helps control our daily sleep-wake cycles), so The Beauty Sleep supplement actually compliments the skin and hair while you sleep….it is an inner beauty boost. It supports the skins natural night-time regeneration. What are the miracle ingredients I hear you ask…well let me tell you. Beauty boosting hyaluronic acid helps to plump and moisturize the skin from the inside out. This skin hero is infused with a herbal blend of lemon balm, chamomile and Passion flower and added B vitamins and pantothenic acid to help aid relaxation, to reduce fatigue and promote a restorative sleep. I have to say I’ve found my ultimate sleep companion with The Beauty Sleep Supplement. So far I’m loving it!

The Australian Bush Flower Essences are ecologically grown and gathered and I was introduced to the Emergency Bush Flower Essence which is fantastic. It is very calming and a great holistic supplement for when you have a lot going on, including those of you with a physical injury. I recommend learning more on their website. I also discovered a magic balm that has multiple uses called Wild Rose Beauty Balm. This can be used as a cleanser, moisturizer and for burns. I use it as a moisturizer and my skin thanks me. I’ve included the website address and a direct contact for you in the directory section.

So much fabulous skincare….

While in one of my favorite shops – Liberty – a shop I grew up with in England I discovered another British skincare line called Aurelia. A multi award winning probiotic skincare brand with BioOrganic ingredients and natural essential oils. Aurelia probiotic skincare’s scientifically proven probiotic technology works by helping to balance the level of inflammation within the skin. The result is luminous glowing skin. I tried the miracle cleanser and the firm and revitalise dry body oil (which is deeply hydrating). I can’t wait to discover more from this beautiful skincare brand.

In London I ran out of my Anastasia eyebrow whiz so while in Selfridges, I tried Charlotte Tilbury and fell in love with the consistency and tone of Brow Lift in Brookes. Charlotte Tilbury is a British make-up artist and founder and creator of her eponymous beauty and skincare brand; Charlotte Tilbury beauty ltd. I also brought her Color Chameleon eyeliner that brings out the green in my eyes and she has a tone to make every eye color pop. I am excited to try more from her line as she is known for creating an effortless sun kissed glow with her products.

I’ve edited it down to these two skincare brands as I believe they are the best in the UK. Charlotte Tilbury is superb and I know you will fall in love with her make-up. I have to mention while in Neal’s Yard I was introduced to what will now be my go to vegan hotspot for lunch in London; WildFood Cafe. I had a vegan feast and fed my skin from the inside out with delicious organic food and skin loving ingredients. Remember organic ingredients contain higher levels of essential fatty acids, vitamins and up to 69% more key antioxidants.

All you need now is your invisible crown! Enjoy discovering new products and let me know what you think. I love hearing from you all. Until next time shine bright…..
